Johnathan is star platinum and here is my theory. first of all star platinum looks exactly like Jonathan,his face and his gloves looks so similar to star platinum's . and when dio trys to kill Johnathan he says a certain dialogue that "if I die, my ghost is going to haunt you ", when dio returned In jojo part 3 , Johnathan came to help the Joestar family as jotharo's stand and successfully ended his fued with dio. Johnathan's arc in season 1 seemed incomplete because he failed to kill his enemy dio ,but by returning as star platinum his arc is completed by killing dio. Also this theory explains why
