DISCOVERIES FROM THE TOMB // MAKING A MEDIEVAL KNIGHT'S CLOTHES! #costume #sewing #cosplay #history - Video

Here, I am starting the process of recreating an Italian Renaissance man's overgarment called a giornea, based on an extant garment worn once by the Count of Montella, Diego di Cavaniglia. Enjoy my process! The violent death of a medieval Italian knight has allowed us to better understand 15th-century fashion and how clothing was constructed; here is the start to my own journey to recreate the garments in which he was interred after dying in one of the last crusades to be called, specifically his giornea and farsetto. Here is the story of hius death and rebirth. #patternmaking #handsewing #Florence #medievalclothing #project #sewingproject #MySCA #historicalclothing #medievallivinghistory #sewingtutorial #history
